Et en mai, fais ce qu'il te plaît.

May in Montreal is basically the city’s soft-launch into summer — patios open, flowers flex, and the snow is (mostly) gone for good. It’s the perfect time to ditch the winter hibernation and *actually* go on that date. Whether it’s our first or fiftieth, here are some offbeat, fun, and very MTL-approved ways to do dates this month.

Montréal Cocktail Fest returns from May 18 to 22, bringing together top mixologists, craft distilleries, and cocktail lovers for five days of tastings, workshops, and vibrant nightlife. Let's cheers?

With this lovely temperature, getting out asses outside for a little romantic walk through Old Montreal or along the Lachine Canal sounds pretty good to me. Have you been to Mont Royal or Parc Lafontaine lately?

If you know me long enough, you might remember my passion for puppets and masks (weirdo, indeed). Gaudeō is an festive exhibition of puppets, sets and designs that have marked the last 20 years of the popular Festival des Casteliers puppetry festival.

Starting May 15th, Cirque du Soleil presents Luzia. I haven't been to their shows in years, but I'll be so interested to see people being freaky?

For my fellow melodramatic people, Opéra de Montréal presents their latest masterwork from May 10 to 20: La Bohème by Puccini. I want to cry. Publicly. Ideally with you.

To get a drink, here are some spots I'd love to try :

Magpie magique

NINI salon à cocktail

Vol de nuit

To eat, here's some places I would love to be taken to :

Renoir (Sunday brunch!)

Terrasse Alizé (and the view!!!!)

Mama C

Have a wonderful month of May!
